Earlier this year, 243 small and medium business leaders set aside six weeks to rethink how they work through the Amazon Innovation Accelerator. With cohorts held in eight cities across the UK (Altrincham, Bolton, Dartford, Fife, Jarrow and Gateshead, Leeds and Sutton Coldfield) alongside one online-only group, the programme brought together leaders from all kinds of sectors and backgrounds. Some arrived with a clear idea. Others brought a stubborn bottleneck, a nagging problem or simply a hunch that things could be better.
The Amazon Innovation Accelerator gave them the time, space and tools to dig in. Over six weeks, the industry leader shared its own successes, mistakes and the practical methods it relies on to keep growing – like working backwards from the customer need. Each participant then took those ideas back to their own business and put them to work.
The results speak for themselves:
93% have seen at least one immediate benefit in their organisation
70% have improved productivity or expect to soon
Almost a third (32%) have taken on new staff, or plan to shortly
Over a quarter (26%) have increased turnover or expect to soon
For many, the programme marked the end of a busy six weeks. For some, it was only the beginning. Either way, thank you to every leader who took part. You gave up valuable time, shared your challenges openly and backed yourselves to try something different.
Finalists in the Amazon Innovation Accelerator 2026
The Amazon Innovation Accelerator Awards give participants the chance to show what they've done with everything they learned, and to compete for a share of £100,000. There are four award categories, each worth £25,000.
The entries were varied, ambitious and thoughtful. Narrowing them down was no easy task. Below are the businesses through to the finals.

The finalists are:

The finalists are:
Coolicon Lighting
iCOR Systems
The Flag Consultancy
Social Value Award
For businesses that measure success by more than profit. That might mean reducing environmental impact, supporting a local community or finding a fairer way to operate. Here, doing good isn't a welcome by-product. It's the whole point.
