The Productivity Collective Code of Conduct

Our community strives to create a supportive and positive environment for all members. To foster respectful and responsible engagement, we created The Productivity Collective Code of Conduct. By following these guidelines, you're building a community where everyone feels comfortable, heard, and supported.  

Our standards   

  • Treat all members with respect, kindness, and professionalism. 

  • Embrace diversity and avoid discriminatory language or behaviour. 

  • Engage in open and respectful dialogue. 

  • Be mindful of tone in written communication, ensuring clarity and positivity. 

  • Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information shared within the community. 

  • Do not share private conversations or proprietary information without consent. 

  • Foster a spirit of collaboration; help others by sharing knowledge and resources. 

  • Celebrate the achievements of others and contribute positively to discussions. 

  • Avoid self-promotion that does not add value to the community. 

  • If a disagreement arises, seek resolution calmly and respectfully. 

  • Report any behaviour that violates this code of conduct to the community moderators. 

  • Harassment, hate speech, or bullying will not be tolerated. 

  • Spamming, solicitation, or disruptive behaviour will result in removal from the community. 

Section 1: Respectful and Courteous Behaviour 

Introduction:  

As a community member, you are responsible for upholding professional and respectful behaviour in your interactions with others. We ask that you pledge to treat your fellow community members with kindness, empathy, and respect and to ensure that your content is appropriate for all audiences. 

Rules:  
To maintain a positive and productive community environment, we do not tolerate posts of the following nature: 

  • Illegal content 

  • Pornographic, sexually explicit, or mature content 

  • Racist, sexist, bigoted, or otherwise offensive material 

  • Shockingly graphic, grotesque, or obscene content 

  • Inflammatory language, such as name-calling, preaching, ranting, stirring up controversy, or venting frustrations 

Section 2: Protecting My Privacy in the Community 

Introduction:  
As a member of the Productivity Collective, we ask that you understand that protecting your privacy is your responsibility. Please ensure that the information you share with the community is what you are comfortable with, including your profile information. 

Rules:  
To safeguard your personal information, please:  

  • Be mindful of the information your share in public forums 

  • Use discretion when sharing personal details, such as your email address or phone number 

  • Take advantage of the privacy settings available to your, and adjust them as needed to control who can see your information. 

Section 3: Intentional contributions 

Introduction:  

To make the most of your experience in the Productivity Collective, we encourage you to be intentional about your contributions. Engage in conversations and groups that align with your interests and participate meaningfully. Also understand that you will most benefit from the community when also contributing to it by answering questions, sharing your experiences, and participating in events. 

Rules:  

To ensure that your contributions are valuable and respected, you should strive to: 

  • Help groups create organised conversations by posting within relevant channels 

  • Provide helpful and constructive feedback to other members 

  • Leave thoughtful comments on topics that interest you 

  • RSVP for and attend events that intrigue you 

Section 4: Best Practices for Sharing Content 

Introduction:  

We're excited to showcase the fantastic work our members are doing. We consistently hear from members that this is one of their favourite parts of the community.  

Rules:  

To help make sure your contributions are celebrated and respected, here are some best practices to keep in mind: 

  • Give credit where it's due: Acknowledge and celebrate the work of others 

  • Share with care: Always link to the source when posting others' work 

  • Respect intellectual property: Be sure to include links to copyrighted or trademarked content 

Section 5: Responsible Use of Community Features 

Introduction:  

Our community includes many features to help community members interact with one another, including private messaging. We ask that members use these tools responsibly and refrain from spamming or sending unsolicited messages to other members. 

Rules:  

To ensure that the community remains a supportive and respectful environment, we consider the following actions to be spam: 

  • Using likes, comments, private messaging, or other social features to draw attention to your profile in a disingenuous way 

  • Misusing community features and functionality for personal gain or in a way that is not in line with their core purpose 

  • Posting content that explicitly promotes a product or service 

  • Posting the same question in multiple locations before anyone has the opportunity to reply 

Section 6: Best practice for using private messages for community building 

Introduction:  

Private messaging can be a powerful tool for community builders to connect and collaborate with one another. 

Rules:  

When using this feature, we ask that members follow these guidelines: 

  • Messages must be related to relevant topics 

  • Personalise your messages. Boilerplate messages can come across as impersonal and may lack the necessary details to connect with others. Be sure to include the recipient's name, a brief explanation of why you are reaching out, and any pertinent information about their community that interests you 

  • Have a specific reason, partnership, or opportunity in mind when contacting another member. Avoid sending general messages asking if someone is interested in collaborating 

Section 7: Reporting Code of Conduct Violations 

To report a violation, please follow these steps: 

  • Provide a brief description of the issue, along with any relevant details or evidence 

  • We will review the report and take appropriate action, which may include removing the offending content or taking disciplinary action against the member responsible 

Please note that the Productivity Collective admins reserve the right to remove posts or accounts that are detrimental to the community without warning.
