Delivered by Be the Business and funded by the City & Guilds Foundation, Pathways to Potential supported 29 SMEs to develop more inclusive approaches to recruiting young people.
The evaluation highlights the importance of:
Tailoring support to each employer’s readiness and recruitment needs.
Combining mentoring with practical guidance on apprenticeships, funding and employment.
Connecting businesses with local organisations that can introduce and support young candidates.
Employer case studies illustrate these changes in practice, including a business recruiting its first employee through an apprenticeship.
85% of follow-up survey respondents said the programme changed their approach to recruitment.
